Direct contact with the profession since the first year of the degree with the School Immersion Programme
The Universitat Abat Oliba CEU is a pioneer on the methodology that allows to combine two degrees and obtain in 5 years two university degrees.
The UAO CEU sets out the double degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education, which allows to increase the professional resources of our future teachers.
This double degree allows to gather the best of both degrees: attention to our youngest students and specialisation in the English, Special Education, Physical Education, and Musical Education areas.
We prepare our teacher to be part of the construction of knowledge, by means of their participation in educative research processes with the needed methodological basis and the development and application of new technologies, techniques and procedures in the didactic, educative and pedagogical world.
The objective of this double degree is to obtain a teacher able to join a high technical and scientific qualification in relation to the tasks he or she performs, and a pedagogical and didactic training that allows him or her to develop the important task of being an excellent teacher.
The UAO CEU offers a sound, in-depth and professional study programme, which is the result of a combination of university educational experiences lived in the Humanities’ area and the faculties of Teaching Studies of Vigo and Sevilla, as well as in the educational institutions which the CEU group owns across de country.
Since the first year, our students participate in the real activities that are developed in the educative centres of the Abat Oliba Foundation. This way, we provide a practical knowledge of the teaching profession, and every different aspect related to it.
The CEU ePlus competence program is incorporated in every degree since the very first year, in order to work on the specific most demanded competences in the labour market for every degree. In addition, the students always have at their disposal the possibility to make an individual coaching procedure.

Intensive course to pass the required Aptitude Test in order to access the Early Childhood and Primary Education degrees.
Students who obtain the official title "graduate in Early Childhood Education + Primary Education from the Abat Oliba CEU University" can pursue careers in the following areas:
(*) In case of attending the courses required to obtain the Ecclesiastical Declaration of Academic Competition - DECA.
In the final year of the degree course, students undertake a mandatory work placement in companies, offices or institutions in their preferred area of practice.
These practical training programmes are included in the study plans, and enable the student to apply and complement the knowledge they have acquired during their academic training, ensuring that they acquire professional competences that will assist them when they enter employment in the future. The group of activities that the student will develop in this programme will be jointly agreed between the company’s tutor and the Work Placement and Employment Service coordinator, who is in charge of the practicum.
The student will also have an academic tutor who will monitor and evaluate the internships to ensure that the students get the maximum use of their time at the organisation.

You will be able to do the place reservation at the Abat Oliba CEU University, which guarantees a place in the degree while awaiting approval of the Selectivitat or other access requirements, carrying out the payment of €1,500 which will be discounted from the total price of the course.
This method involves a 3% discount on the enrolment fees.

Students must have an interest in education, and value the teaching profession and a service vocation for personal well-being and for the common good, as it has been in most cultural traditions, particularly our own. They must also feel inclined to work for the benefit of children in early childhood education, despite the difficulties involved in teaching at this stage of their lives. They must have the intellectual capacities that can allow them to adapt to the cognitive conditions of their students, and to efficiently adapt the didactic resources in order to achieve successfully the expected learning goals.
In addition, the students must be good with the communication, not only by means of oral and written expression, but through the means that give them an active answer from their students, such as music, drawings, etc. They must also know how to work as a team, both in terms of specific teaching tasks as well as in more complex institutional environments, such as schools. An aspiring primary education teacher must also be able to mediate and resolve conflicts, both within the classroom, as well as in other areas of the educational community - in particular, they must know how to communicate with families, respecting the ancillary nature of the school’s role with regard to the parents.
