ADMISSION PROFILE

Students wishing to apply for the official master’s degree in Audiovisual Postproduction must have a Spanish degree or advanced course (general degree, degree or honours degree) or a foreign degree (equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in the Anglo-Saxon system).

This profile includes:

  • Graduate students interested in developing their professional careers in the audiovisual field.
  • Entrepreneurs and executives who need to increase their knowledge in the field of audiovisual post-production.
  • Audiovisual technical professionals who aspire to assume new responsibilities.

Previous experience in the field of audiovisual post-production is not required for this teaching programme. Instead, it intends to provide a complete training for the student, progressive and efficient.

OBJECTIVES

Through this master’s degree, the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU intends to offer its students a high training in the process of audiovisual post-production, and qualify them for a proper command of creative techniques and processes.

To achieve this goal, the master’s degree is organised in 8 modules, which define the different covered fields, each one of them with different durations according to its needs. It starts with a definition of the audiovisual market and a quick view on all the existing processes (economic system of the audiovisual sector), it goes on with the apprenticeship of all the artistic and visual concepts (visual technology and culture); it continues with the technical and practical approach to the information flow in all the process (video post-production), and it enters the world of digital compositing: digital image retouching, graphic image creation and stereoscopic composition (visual compositing and creation). The final project modules are developed in a transversal way. They include the essence of their complete training (final master’s degree project), and the internships in companies to put into practice the acquired knowledge (internships in companies and institutions). Knowledge on law and ethics is also important, so subjects on copyright in music and images and professional ethics are also included (Law and ethics).
Other goals pursued by this master's degree are:

  • Encouraging creativity among students in order to develop projects and/or solve typical problems of this profession in an original and innovative way.
  • Teaching students with ethical and responsible values for their performance of the profession.
  • Providing the student with an interdisciplinary training in the legal, economic, sociological and humanistic fields.

The master’s degree in Audiovisual Postproduction of the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU is aimed at training experts in the design of all the aspects related to sound, image and graphic arts, in the different audiovisual postproduction stages: preproduction, production and post-production. This professional profile also includes the interactive environments for the creation of productions intended for the Internet, videogames and other interactive materials aimed at industries and training in general.
