The Library Service is conceived as a support unit for study and research. Its most important objective is to meet the educative and scientific demands. It has convenient opening hours, including weekends, with the best computer equipment. In addition, the UAO CEU offers to all the University community a vast digital storage, with free access to its publications from its docent, research or institutional activities carried out by teachers, students or former students from the University.

Academic Management

Dr Alfonso Freire. Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, a degree in Advertising and Public Relations, a Master’s degree in Humanistic and Social Studies, a PhD in Communication, and is currently a PhD candidate in Humanities. He is accredited as a tenured professor by ANECA and as an associate professor by AQU, with a research period (sexenio) recognised by CNEAI and AQU. He is currently Head of the Department of Communication at the CEU Abat Oliba University. He is the principal investigator of the project Inclusive representation and destigmatisation of mental health in audiovisual narratives within the creative industry (B425FP05), funded under the CEU Bridge Projects Call 2024–2025.Between 2018 and 2022, he was part of the research team of the R&D&I project Making pain visible: visual narratives of illness and transmedia storytelling.He has received the Best Scientific Article Award at the II FlixOlé–URJC Awards for Research in Spanish Cinema, the Ángel Herrera Award for Best Teaching Performance (2013–2014), and the GoliAD Andreu Barrabino Award for alumni career achievement.

Academic coordinator of the master's degree

Carles Lamelo. Graduated in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication; Master in Political Analysis and Ph. D. student in Communication. He is currently working as a journalist n the radio Onda Cero and as a teacher and researcher in different universities: Universitat Abat Oliba CEU, where he coordinates the official master's degree in Audiovisual Post-production and teaches Radio, TV and Content Creation in the Journalism and Advertising and PR degrees. He also collaborates in other universities as a teacher: UAB, UIC, Internacional de La Rioja, La Salle, UVic and UOC. He has previously worked in Catalunya Ràdio, Radio Nacional de España and Barcelona Televisió. He has directed the documentary "Bellcaire: històries amb encant", and he is the author of the books: Follow Friday. "Método estratégico de comunicación 2.0 y marketing digital" (2014) and "Televisión social y transmedia". "Nuevos paradigmas de producción y consumo televisivo" (2016).

  • Dr. Juan Corona. Honorary Rector of the UAO CEU and Director of the Chair of Family Business at the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU. Professor of applied economics and lecturer in Economic System in the university master's degree in Audiovisual Postproduction.
  • Dr. Alfonso Freire. PhD in Communication and Associate Professor, he is the director of the University Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Postproduction at Universitat CEU Abat Oliba and head of the Department of Communication. His teaching and research activities focus on audiovisual communication, visual culture, and the analysis of audiovisual technologies. In this Master’s programme, he teaches the course Technology and Visual Culture and coordinates the academic design of the programme, ensuring coherence between the training objectives, the content, and the learning outcomes.
  • Dr. Gerard Casau. PhD in Communication from the Pompeu Fabra University, he is a lecturer and TFM tutor on the university master's degree in Audiovisual Post-production at the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU and on the master's degree in Fantastic Cinema and Contemporary Fiction at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia). He is a member of the programming committee and works in the publications department of the Sitges - International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia. He is also programming coordinator and head of communications at Primavera Pro, the international music conference organised by Primavera Sound. As a critic, he collaborates with different media: Ara, Time Out Barcelona, Rockdelux, So Film, Sensacine, Dirigido por... He has participated in books such as Sitges: 50 años celebrando la oscuridad, Michele Soavi. Filmmaker of the macabre, Takashi Miike. La provocación que llegó de oriente and Neoculto.
  • Dr. Raquel Crisóstomo. PhD in Humanities from Pompeu Fabra University (2011) and PhD in Communication from the same university (2019). Assistant lecturer doctor (ANECA) and lecturer reader (AQU). She has been a lecturer and TFM tutor on the Master's Degree in Audiovisual Post-production at the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU since 2016 and also teaches classes related to the area of communication at different university institutions (ESERP, ESCAC...) with over fifteen years of teaching experience. She is a member of the Scientific Council of the international organisation Communication and Media Research Center, among other research groups, and her main lines of research focus on audiovisual representation, television series and popular culture from the perspective of cultural studies.
  • Dr. Eva Perea. PhD in Economics. Research Professor. Honorary Rector UAO CEU.
  • Dr. Jorge Martínez-Lucena. PhD in Journalism from the CEU San Pablo University, degree in Philosophy from the Universitat Abat Oliba, assistant lecturer in Anthropology, visiting researcher at the Universities of Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan), Hertfordshire (Hatfield) and Durham. Researcher in cultural studies on postmodern culture, social imaginaries and contemporary philosophical anthropology.
  • Dr. Fernando Morales. PhD in Audiovisual Communication and Advertising from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Lima (Peru). He is the author of the books Editing and montage in international film and video (Focal Press) and Teoría y práctica de la edición en vídeo (UOC) as well as numerous research articles for academic journals. In 2010 he published his doctoral thesis at the UAB, entitled Design for the study of the perceptual impact of audiovisual overlapping.
  • PDr. Montse Morcate. PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. Accredited reader (AQU). Lecturer in photography at the Department of Visual Arts and Design (Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Barcelona). Her research focuses on the representation of death, illness and mourning, both from the field of fine arts and from visual anthropology and science, initiated with her doctoral thesis “Photographic representations of death and mourning, from the family album to the contemporary creative project” (Cum Laude, 2014).
  • Dr. Chus López.  PhD in Humanities. Master in Documentary and Society. Master's Degree in Film Directing. Master in Business Film. Postgraduate in Line Producing by the Escuela Superior de Cine y Audiovisuales de Cataluña (ESCAC).
  • Carles Lamelo. Adjunct professor and academic coordinator of the University Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Postproduction, he holds degrees in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication and is a PhD candidate in Communication. His career combines university teaching with extensive professional experience in audiovisual media. In this Master’s programme, he teaches cross-disciplinary content related to audiovisual business, visual culture, sound storytelling, and technology applied to audiovisual production.
  • Gerard Casau. Film and musical critic, he is a member of the board of the Catalan Association of Cinematographic Critics and Writers. He is a usual collaborator of Rockdelux, Time Out Barcelona, Dirigido Por, SOFilm, Sensacine O and Numerocero, among other publications. He has participated in the books "Neoculto" (Calamar Ediciones, 2012), "Takashi Miike. La provocación que llegó de oriente" (Calamar Ediciones, 2013) and the two volumes of "Antología crítica del cine fantástico y de terror español (1912-2014)" (T&B Editores, 2015). He has given classes and seminars at Estudio de Cine, the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and the cinematographic critic workshop organised by the Humanities Institute of Barcelona and the ACCEC. He works in the publication department of Sitges - International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, and is a member of its selection committee He is currently studying his Ph. D. in Cinema and Audiovisual Media Aesthetics and he is a also a teacher of the official master's degree in Audiovisual Post-production of the UAO CEU.
  • Lara Vilanova. Graduated from the Escuela Superior de Cinema y Audiovisuales de Cataluña (ESCAC), starting her career as a director of photography in television and film. In 2009 she won the Kodak Nahemi award for best cinematographer at the Encounters Film Festival (England); she was selected in 2011 to attend the Berlinale Talent Campus and the Summer Academy in Locarno as a cinematographer. She was nominated for best cinematography in 2018 at the Fenix, Mestre Mateo and Camerimage awards. She is currently in post-production on her latest film shot in Kurdistan, Sinjar. She is a colourist and works freelance with Da Vinci, Mistika. She teaches and tutors TFM in the Master's Degree in Audiovisual Postproduction at the UAO CEU. 
  • Marc Llabina. Graduate in Audiovisual Communication. Master in Digital Communication and New Technologies. Official Apple Final Cut Pro Certified Trainer (T3), professor of Fundamentals of Television Communication, Audiovisual Production and Journalistic Production at the Abat Oliba CEU University. Head of the Audiovisual Service of the UAO CEU. Producer and editor of videos for companies and institutions in the commercial and cultural field. He has worked as a journalist, scriptwriter and radio producer. Advisor on communication strategies in social networks.
  • Néstor Oñatibia. Sound engineer and professional musician. Graduate in Music Teaching from the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona and certified instructor by Apple and Steinberg in Logic and Cubase programmes. Avid certified operator in Pro Tools. He has more than twenty years of work experience as a sound technician in important music recording studios (Aurha, Grabaciones Silvestres) and television production companies (El Terrat and Minoria Absoluta). He is direct sound technician for the groups Blaumut, Èric Vinaixa and La Soul Machine. He also teaches at the Microfusa sound school and owns his own recording studio (Slim Studio Bcn).
  • Roger Reig. Graduate in Multimedia from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, specialising in Digital Communication and Culture. Technician specialising in audiovisual programme direction and production. He is currently a partner, director and head of post-production at the Uniunfandos audiovisual studio. Co-founder of the norender.com portal for news and articles on the sector. With more than 20 years of experience in the audiovisual sector, he has worked as an editor and graphic designer for companies such as Mediapark, Teuve, Mediapro, La Sexta; as well as editor of national and international advertising and video clips, or documentaries for Canal Arte or La Noche temática on TV2. He has also worked on visual effects for Spanish films such as El gran Vázquez and El coronel Macià. He has always combined his professional activity with teaching: for eleven years he has worked as a lecturer at ESCAC (Escuela Superior de Cine y Audiovisuales de Cataluña) teaching theory and practice of composition and editing. He has also given technical training at TVC Televisió de Catalunya, at the Fundación Autor (SGAE), and has developed on-demand training courses for several companies in the sector (in-company training). Since 2014 he has been teaching on the university master's degree in Audiovisual Postproduction at the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU.
  • Oscar Chuecos. Graduate in Audiovisual Communication and graduated in Teaching from the UB. He has worked as a freelance editor and graphic designer since 2010, working in corporate, advertising, artistic and fiction video for agencies, companies and various institutions, combining it with my teaching work in universities and business centres. Certified DaVinci trainer by Blackmagic in editing, VFX and sound postproduction.
  • Vicen Rodríguez. Graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. Lecturer on the Master's Degree in Audiovisual Postproduction at the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU and on the Master's Degree in Film and Television Fiction at the Universitat Ramon Llull. With more than 30 years of experience in pre-sales, training and technical assistance in companies dedicated to the supply, installation and maintenance of equipment for television production, film and audiovisual post-production.
  • Carol Novell. Expert in Digital Editing and Postproduction with more than 20 years of experience, combining her freelance work with teaching in Barcelona. She is the only Spanish woman certified as a Nuke Trainer by the Foundry and has been teaching at various universities since 2002. In addition, she has worked on advertising projects, series and feature films, and is currently preparing the VFX for a film.
  • Raquel Lamelo. Graduate in Audiovisual Communication from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, with extensive experience as a video editor, postproduction and motion graphics both in postproduction studios and on her own. Currently, she is the Motion Grpagics and Postproduction coordinator at a private film school in Barcelona. She is the only Cinema 4D trainer certified by Maxon in Catalonia.

EXTERNAL ACADEMIC INTERNSHIPS

The Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Postproduction includes a compulsory module of External Academic Internships worth 5 ECTS credits, aimed at applying the knowledge acquired in real professional environments within the audiovisual sector. Students are required to complete a minimum of 100 hours in a host organization. The internship period begins four months after the start of the master’s program, in order to ensure that students have acquired sufficient knowledge to make the most of their practical experience.

Universitat Abat Oliba CEU maintains collaboration agreements with more than 100 companies and institutions in the audiovisual field, ensuring a sufficient and diverse range of internship placements for all students enrolled in the program. These organizations include audiovisual production companies, postproduction studios, television networks, and companies specialized in digital content, as well as communication agencies that offer audiovisual production services. Internships involve tasks directly related to audiovisual postproduction (video editing, color grading, sound design, visual effects, motion graphics, among others), allowing students to integrate into professional workflows and gain experience in real projects.

The number of available placements is aligned with the number of enrolled students, ensuring that all students are assigned an internship. In all cases, the maximum number of authorized places for the degree is guaranteed.

The program benefits from the active collaboration of companies in the sector, which participate directly in the training process by offering internships, involving professionals in teaching activities, and developing applied projects. This close connection with the professional environment strengthens the acquisition of skills and significantly enhances students’ employability.

Tuition fees correspond, solely and exclusively, to the provision of teaching as part of the programme enrolled on, and this is the only service offered in exchange for the payment of those fees. By enrolling, the student accepts that decisions made by the competent authorities may, directly or indirectly, render it necessary to carry out teaching, tutoring, work placements or assessment tests either in person or via distance learning.

The student accepts that they remain obliged to pay any such fees in full even if, for reasons beyond the control of the University, some of the educational activities included in the degree cannot be carried out as initially provided for in the course guides at the beginning of the academic year. If restrictions are part in place, the University will provide the student with a guarantee that the activity will be rescheduled when possible, taking into consideration the interests of the student and any other applicable academic criteria.

Calidad y normativa

PERFIL DE INGRESO

Los candidatos al programa de máster universitario en Postproducción Audiovisual deben poseer una titulación universitaria superior española (diplomatura, licenciatura o ingeniería superior) o extranjera (equivalente a un bachelor’s degree en el sistema anglosajón).

Este perfil incluye:

  • licenciados y diplomados interesados en desarrollar su carrera profesional en el ámbito del audiovisual
  • empresarios y directivos de empresa que precisen ampliar su formación en el área de la postproducción audiovisual
  • profesionales técnicos del audiovisual que aspiren a asumir nuevas responsabilidades

Este programa formativo no exige una experiencia previa en todos los ámbitos de la postproducción audiovisual, sino que pretende proporcionar una formación integral al o a la estudiante de forma progresiva y eficaz.

OBJETIVOS

La Universitat Abat Oliba CEU, a través de este máster, pretende lograr una alta preparación del alumnado en el proceso de postproducción audiovisual, capacitándolo en el manejo de las técnicas y procesos creativos.

Para cumplir este objetivo, el máster se organiza en ocho módulos, que definen los diferentes ámbitos a tratar, cada uno de ellos con duraciones diversas según las necesidades. Empieza con una definición del mercado audiovisual y una rápida visión de todos los procesos existentes (sistema económico del sector audiovisual), sigue por el aprendizaje de todos los conceptos artísticos y visuales (tecnología y cultura visual); continúa con la visión técnica y práctica del flujo de información en todo el proceso (postproducción de vídeo) y entra en el mundo de la composición digital: el retoque de la imagen, la creación de una imagen gráfica y la composición estereoscópica (composición y creación visual).

De forma transversal, se desarrollan los módulos del proyecto final, que incluye la esencia de toda la formación (trabajo de fin de máster) y las prácticas en empresas para poder aplicar los conocimientos adquiridos (prácticas en empresas e instituciones). También los conocimientos de derecho y ética son importantes, por eso se incluyen temas como los derechos de autor en música o imágenes o la ética profesional (derecho y ética).
 

Otros objetivos que persigue este máster son:

  • Estimular la creatividad del alumnado para desarrollar proyectos o resolver problemas propios de la profesión de forma original y novedosa.
  • Educar a los estudiantes en valores éticos y responsables en el desempeño de la profesión.
  • Proporcionar al alumnado una formación interdisciplinar en los ámbitos jurídico, económico, sociológico y humanístico.

Así, el máster universitario en Postproducción Audiovisual de la Universitat Abat Oliba CEU tiene como objetivo final formar expertos en el diseño de todos los aspectos vinculados al sonido, la imagen y el grafismo, en las diversas fases de la producción audiovisual: preproducción, producción y postproducción.

Este perfil profesional también abarca los entornos interactivos para la creación de producciones orientadas a Internet, videojuegos y otros materiales interactivos destinados a la industria y a la formación en general.
